Thank goodness for that. Everything’s ready for Christmas; cards sent, presents to distant relatives sent or delivered, major shopping finished – now, with luck, there’s just a relaxing weekend and then the big day itself. Of course there’s the turkey to pick up on Sunday and the cooking to look forward to, but my wife takes charge of all that and I’m just the labourer, so it’s not as if I have to do anything stressful like make decisions.
All in all it’s been a relatively trouble-free time. The only hiccup was a missing letter to J containing money from his grandma and aunt. He got a parcel containing his presents from us, but that letter has just vanished despite being sent using the “Signed For” option. He’s had a lot of trouble with the post and he really will have to make a serious complaint about it after the holiday period.
